Rice hulls help to increase liquid flow through your mash and can help to reduce the chances of a stuck sparge and aid in recirculation, particularly in a mash with high percentages of husked grains such as wheat, rye, rice and rolled or flaked products like oats. They do not contribute flavour or fermentables in the finished product.
